Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA) / French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy commission.
CEA-Liten is a member of «Institut Carnot Énergies du Futur ».
Located at CEA Grenoble and INES (Chambéry) centers, it is dedicated to the energy transition. Its activities focus on several key areas: solar energy, network management, batteries storage and hydrogen in order to improve energy efficiency and circular economy approach. CEA-Liten covers a wide range of applications in energy production and distribution, transportation, industrial processes, and environment markets.
Role in the project
In SPINMATE, CEA will run some tests and analysis on the Solid State Battery assemblies developed during the project. Characterization and performance tests will be done. Cell’s behavior will be monitored during the tests thanks to smart sensors developed by CEA-LIST. To assess SSB cells’ safety, CEA will apply some abusive tests, and will characterize the thermal runaway energy of the cells. CEA will also dismantle the cells with adapted protocols and analyze them with several electrochemistry and nano-characterization technics. CEA is the SPINMATE WP7 WorkPackage leader.
